Nyaribari Masaba—Alphoncious Nyasetia, popularly known as Kolo Komo, has formally declared his intention to vie for the Nyaribari Masaba parliamentary seat on a Jubilee Party ticket, outlining an agenda focused on economic revival, youth employment, and leadership accountability.
Speaking during a public address, Nyasetia positioned himself as part of a new wave of leaders seeking “instant answers and solutions” to the challenges facing Kenyans. He voiced strong support for Jubilee’s presidential hopeful, Fred Okeng’o Matiang’i, describing his candidacy as timely and necessary for the country’s leadership transition.
Nyasetia was critical of the current administration, arguing that it has fallen short of delivering on its promises to citizens. He called for urgent action in the remaining period of the government’s term, emphasizing the need to restore public confidence and improve livelihoods.
“We want to encourage Kenyans to believe in leadership that listens and acts,” he said, adding that the electorate has endured significant economic hardship and deserves responsive governance.
If elected, Nyasetia says his priority will be to transform the local economy through modern agribusiness, fabrication, and the integration of technology and innovation. He identified youth unemployment as a pressing concern, noting that many young people remain idle due to limited opportunities.
“It is unacceptable that our youth are left without options. We must invest in innovation and create avenues for employment so they can contribute meaningfully to the economy,” he said.
Nyasetia also pledged to introduce initiatives aimed at equipping young people with practical skills and supporting entrepreneurship, positioning these efforts as key to reducing poverty and boosting development in Nyaribari Masaba.
As the political season gathers momentum, his entry into the race adds to the growing list of aspirants seeking to represent the constituency, with campaigns expected to intensify in the coming months.
