The Jubilee Party has issued a stern warning to President William Ruto, urging him and his allies to accord due respect to former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta amid escalating political tensions.

Addressing a press conference, the party’s presidential candidate Fred Matiang’i called on President Ruto to take responsibility for the conduct of his supporters, insisting that public attacks directed at the former president must cease.

“President Ruto must behave and take responsibility for the conduct of his leaders. The continued attacks and disrespect directed at former President Uhuru Kenyatta are unacceptable and undermine the values of leadership and unity in our country,” Matiang’i said.

The Jubilee Party maintained that Kenyatta, by virtue of his former office, deserves dignity and recognition for his service to the nation. The party cautioned that sustained political hostility risks deepening divisions and destabilising the country’s already tense political environment.

Matiang’i further urged leaders across the political divide to exercise restraint and redirect their focus to issues affecting ordinary Kenyans, rather than engaging in personal attacks and political antagonism.

Reaffirming its stance, the Jubilee Party underscored its commitment to national unity, respect for leadership institutions, and constructive political engagement as Kenya continues to navigate its democratic path.
