Residents of Kinangop Constituency have expressed gratitude to the national government and their area Member of Parliament, Hon. Kwenya Thuku, following significant progress in the construction of the Ndunyu Njeru–Kahuruko–Kwa Mbekenya road, a key infrastructure project expected to transform connectivity in the region.

The road, which is now approximately 80 percent complete, is seen as a vital link that will not only ease movement within Kinangop but also connect the constituency to neighboring Kipipiri and open up access to the Aberdare National Park. Locals say the development marks a major step forward in improving transport, trade, and tourism in the area.

Residents noted that the remaining 20 percent of the project is already underway, with Hon. Kwenya said to be working tirelessly to ensure the road is completed within the shortest time possible. They lauded the commitment demonstrated by both the national leadership and the local MP in delivering the long-awaited project.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Bilhah Wanjiku Kanyago said the road would significantly improve their daily lives, particularly by easing the transportation of farm produce to markets. She added that for years, residents have struggled with poor road conditions, especially during the rainy season, but the new road promises reliability and convenience.

“This road will change everything for us. We will now be able to access markets easily, transport our goods without delays, and even attract more development to our area,” she said.

Susan Wanjiru Muchai echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the economic opportunities the road is likely to unlock. She noted that improved access to the Aberdare National Park could boost tourism in the region, creating jobs and new sources of income for local families.

“We are very grateful. This road is not just about transport, it is about growth. It will open up our area to visitors and investors, and that means better livelihoods for our people,” she said.

The residents collectively thanked President William Ruto and Hon. Kwenya Thuku for prioritizing infrastructure development in the region, expressing optimism that the project will be completed soon and bring lasting benefits to the community.
