Bamburi Cement takes healthcare to the people with Kwale medical outreach

Bamburi Cement Plc today reaffirmed its commitment to improving community health by hosting a free medical camp at Ng’ombeni Primary School in Kwale County, benefiting more than 1,000 residents with access to essential healthcare services.

The initiative, organized by Bamburi Cement’s Mombasa Plant, seeks to improve access to quality healthcare while promoting preventive health practices among communities living near its operations.

Residents are receiving a wide range of free medical services, including general consultations and treatment, cancer screening for breast, cervical and prostate cancers, eye and ear clinics, well-baby services, family planning, tuberculosis (TB) and HIV screening, dermatology consultations, and a blood donation drive.

The medical outreach is being implemented in collaboration with the Kwale County Public Health Department, Kenya Navy, Equity Afia Hospital, Kenya Red Cross, and Dr. Agarwals Eye Hospital, bringing together public and private sector expertise to deliver comprehensive healthcare services.

Speaking on the initiative, (Bamburi Cement representative) said the medical camp reflects the company’s continued investment in the health and well-being of communities where it operates.

This is Bamburi Cement’s second community medical outreach programme in Kenya’s Coastal Region, demonstrating the company’s continuous commitment to creating shared value through impactful community investments.

The initiative forms part of Bamburi Cement’s broader sustainability agenda, which focuses on improving livelihoods, promoting health and safety, and fostering resilient communities.
