Newsline Media Highlights Need for Stronger Practical Exposure in Digital Media Training

University fraternity across the Country have been urged to expose their media and film students to practical skills to ensure the meet the field exposure.

Speaking during the interview, Miss Faith Mukundi, managing director Newsline media and Training Agency said the move will inspire the next generation of professionals.

She highlighted the organization’s commitment to imparting students with technical and practical skills that align with the requirements of the job market while effectively bridging the gap between the classroom and industry experience.

“It is necessary that whatever learnt in theory needs to be practical,” she said.

She outlined the organization’s mission of empowering the next generous generation of professionals through hands-on training, mentorship and industry attachment bridging the gap between academic theory and industry innovation.

She further noted that the onset of digital media has enabled easy access to information making it easy to acquire information on the internet thanks to citizen journalism.

She outlined lack of adequate practical resources at universities and colleges as major hindrance to practical exposure among students.

“This limits the number of students that can be enrolled for a single programme at our centre, forcing us to further postpone our subsequent intake, “she said.

The director admitted that one of the main challenges they faced when launching the attachment centre was the uncertainty of acceptability by the society noting that the centre has already impacted more than 200 professionals in diverse fields.
