Hon. Vincent Mutua Joins Kitui Visionaries Association (KVA) Led by Hillary Katee in Climate Action Drive in Kitui West

Kitu visionaries association (KVA) has wrapped up a successful two-day Climate Change Mitigation Initiative across Mutanda, Kakeani, and Musengo, an event that brought together top local leaders, environmental advocates, and hundreds of residents committed to restoring the region’s ecosystem.

The exercise, held on November 15th and 16th, involved tree-planting activities led by community members, primary school pupils, and KVA leadership. The opening day in Kakeani and Mutanda saw widespread community involvement, while Saturday’s activities in Musengo drew even greater participation.

At the centre of the initiative was Hon. Vincent Mutua the incoming MP for Kitui West, whose rising influence and hands-on engagement continue to shape the constituency’s development agenda.

Hon. Mutua reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding the environment and supporting sustainable growth:

“Our people deserve a greener, healthier, and more resilient Kitui West. Tree planting is not a ceremony—it’s a promise to the next generation. Under my leadership, environmental conservation will be a continuous responsibility, not a one-day event,” he said.

Also present was Hillary Katee Ndana, Chair of KVA and Patron of the Katee Foundation, a figure widely respected for his philanthropic work. Beyond his leadership in climate initiatives, Hillary Katee has sponsored numerous learners across Kitui West—providing school fees, uniforms, and mentorship opportunities to ensure children from vulnerable backgrounds stay in school.

His education support has changed lives, uplifted families, and strengthened the community’s belief in the power of compassionate leadership.

Speaking during the event, he highlighted the unity shown during the tree-planting exercise and applauded Hon. Mutua’s growing role in community transformation:

“Today, Kitui West has shown unity of purpose. With leaders like Hon. Vincent Mutua taking the front line, we are confident that our constituency is on the path to real environmental restoration. This initiative proves that when we plant trees, we plant hope—not just for the environment, but for our children too,” said Hillary Katee Ndana.

Community Leaders Rally Behind the Initiative

Other leaders present included:

Prof. Milu Muyanga – Patron, KVA

Victor Kyalo Mutua (Cashflow) – Secretary General, KVA

Hon. Musee Mati – Former and aspiring MCA for Mutonguni

Their presence underscored the strong support behind KVA’s environmental agenda and community empowerment efforts.

As Kitui West prepares for the future, the combined efforts of Hon. Vincent Mutua, Hillary Katee, and the broader KVA community exemplify leadership rooted in action, compassion, and long-term vision.
