The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially unveiled its candidates for the upcoming by-elections slated for May 14, 2026, marking a key step in the party’s preparations for the polls.
During an event held at the party’s headquarters, Hustler Plaza in Nairobi, UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan presented nomination certificates to three candidates who will carry the party’s flag in different regions.
The nominees include David Kipsang Keter for the Emurua Dikirr parliamentary seat, Daniel Lolngojine for Poro Ward in Samburu County, and Festus Korir Kirop for Endo Ward in Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
Speaking during the ceremony, Hassan expressed confidence in the candidates’ ability to secure victories, noting that the party is focused on maintaining the momentum it demonstrated in recent by-elections. He emphasized UDA’s commitment to supporting its candidates throughout the campaign period.
At the same time, the party reiterated its stance on strengthening internal electoral processes. National Elections Board Chairperson Anthony Mwaura highlighted the party’s dedication to conducting transparent and credible nominations, adding that the integration of technology would play a key role in ensuring fairness and accountability.
The event drew several senior party officials, including Uasin Gishu Senator Jackson Mandago, UDA Executive Director Nicodemus Bore, Deputy Executive Director Higgins Mbugua, Director of Women Affairs Margaret Ndanyi, Director of Membership Grace Gicovi, alongside members of the National Elections Board and other party representatives.
