Africa’s leading online marketplace, Jiji, has been named Best E-Commerce Platform at the 2025 Digitally Fit Awards – East Africa Edition, reinforcing its position as the region’s top online marketplace for the second time.
The awards ceremony, held in Kampala, brought together digital leaders, innovators, and industry disruptors from across the region. The award was received by Jiji Kenya Chief Financial Officer Donald Obonyo on behalf of the company.

Since launching operations in East Africa in 2019, Jiji has grown into a widely trusted online marketplace across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, and other African markets. The platform now connects millions of users to opportunities to buy, sell, and grow their businesses.
Currently, Jiji serves over 12 million unique users every month, underscoring its expanding role in strengthening Africa’s digital economy.
According to Market Data Forecast, Africa’s e-commerce market was valued at USD 1.40 billion in 2024 and is projected to grow to USD 5.76 billion by 2033, highlighting the continent’s vast digital commerce potential.
