Sanlam Kenya Rebrands as SanlamAllianz Kenya Following Partnership with Allianz

Sanlam Kenya has officially adopted a new identity, now operating as SanlamAllianz Kenya, following a joint venture between Sanlam and Allianz.

The partnership creates the largest non-banking financial services group in Africa, drawing on more than two centuries of combined experience.

Speaking on the rebrand, Group CEO Dr. Nyamemba Patrick Tumbo said the move reflects the company’s commitment to improving financial services across the continent while keeping a strong local focus.

He emphasized that the rebrand is more than just a change of name, describing it as a step toward enhancing client experience and expanding reach through technology-driven solutions.

Leadership of the company’s divisions remains unchanged, with Ms. Jacqueline Karasha heading the life insurance business and Mr. George Kuria overseeing general insurance.

Dr. Tumbo explained that the company will leverage the wider technical resources and operational experience of the SanlamAllianz group, which operates in 26 markets and has a combined equity value of over 33-billion-rand, equivalent to about 2 billion euros.

The goal is to strengthen the efficiency of its life and general insurance offerings while ensuring customers receive high-quality, client-focused services.

SanlamAllianz Group CEO Mr. Heinie Werth added that the company aspires to become one of the top three insurance players in every market it operates.

He said this ambition will be supported by collaboration with employees, clients, business partners, regulators, communities, and other stakeholders.

Dr. Tumbo further highlighted that being part of a global organisation will make it easier to access knowledge, develop innovative solutions, and provide financial security for customers.

The rebrand also signals a long-term focus on expanding insurance access, promoting responsible business practices, delivering strong financial performance, and building a skilled, high-performing workforce.

With this new identity, SanlamAllianz Kenya aims to combine global expertise with local insights to offer customers a modern, efficient, and client-focused approach to insurance.
