By Miguel Ndiritu
President William Ruto has called on Kenyans to reject divisive politics and embrace unity as a foundation for national transformation.
He made the remarks during the conclusion of his two-day development tour of Narok County.
“We refuse to fall into the trap of ethnic and divisive politics that blur our vision and threaten our country’s transformation,” said President Ruto, emphasizing that inclusive leadership is vital for long-term progress.
A key highlight of the visit was the launch of the Sekenani Bead Production Centre—an initiative aimed at empowering local artisans, particularly women, by supporting their craft and expanding market access.
The centre is expected to preserve Maasai cultural heritage while creating employment and generating sustainable income for the community.
The President also inspected several ongoing development projects and held engagements with local leaders and residents.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring equal opportunities for all Kenyans, regardless of region or background.
“This tour was not just symbolic—it was about listening to the people and ensuring that no region is left behind,” he stated.
President Ruto also expressed gratitude to the people of Narok, saying, “We thank the people of Narok for the warm welcome they gave us as we traversed the vast county.”
