The Secretariat, comprising highly experienced officers established by the State Department for Foreign Affairs, includes the campaign secretariat and the candidate’s strategy team.

This dedicated team has also crafted a comprehensive campaign strategy, addressing opportunities, challenges, and risks associated with Raila’s candidature.

“The campaign strategy includes outreach programs to the capitals of AU member states, briefing Kenya’s missions abroad, and engaging with the Diplomatic Corps in Nairobi,” the statement highlighted.

The government expressed strong confidence in Raila’s candidacy, emphasizing his credentials, passion for advocating Africa’s interests globally, and commitment to creating more opportunities for Africa and its people, setting him apart from other candidates.

During a joint press briefing, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi revealed that senior government officials had a consultative meeting with Raila and his team to review the campaign’s preparedness.

“During this meeting, we exchanged updates on the progress, preparations from both my side and the government’s side, and the next steps,” Raila shared.

Mudavadi confirmed that the government had established a campaign secretariat to collaborate with the opposition leader, ensuring he secures the prestigious continental position.

Speaking at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Nairobi, the Prime Cabinet Secretary affirmed the William Ruto government’s support for Raila, pledging any necessary assistance.

The Azimio la Umoja Leader praised the government and senior politicians for supporting his aspirations, setting aside partisan political differences.
