The 2nd Edition of the Mau Conservation Marathon has officially been launched at Sarova Woodlands Hotel in Nakuru, alongside the commissioning of the registration portal for the upcoming event.<\/p>\n
The ceremony is being presided over by Nakuru County Deputy Governor Hon. David Koech and hosted by the Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Eng. Festus K. Ng\u2019eno, who also serves as the patron of the Mau Forest Conservation Initiative.<\/p>\n
The event has brought together a wide range of conservation stakeholders and development partners, underscoring the growing multi-sectoral push to restore and protect the Mau Forest complex.<\/p>\n
Among those in attendance are Kuresoi South MP Hon. Joseph Tonui, Kuresoi North MP Hon. Alfred Mutai, Nakuru County Commissioner Loyford Kibaara, WWF Kenya CEO Mr. Jackson Kiplagat, GGI Kenya CEO and founder Liz Wathuti, KEPSA Foundation\u2019s Gloria Ndekei, Dr. Ruth Masha, and Kenya Country Director for Nature Africa.<\/p>\n
Also present are representatives from Safaricom PLC, Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, WASREB, KENAS, Egerton University, and other key partners supporting conservation efforts.<\/p>\n
