Eastern Produce Kenya (EPK) has officially handed over the final batch of Junior Secondary School (JSS) science laboratories in Nandi County, fulfilling its 2025 commitment to promoting STEM education under the Competency-Based Curriculum.<\/p>\n
The company also plans to extend the programme into 2026.<\/p>\n
Speaking during the ceremony ,Nandi County Director of Education, Mr. Harrison Muriuki, who was the chief guest, commended EPK for its consistent support of education in the county.<\/p>\n
\u201cPartnerships between the private sector and education stakeholders are vital, not only in expanding access to quality STEM learning, but also in equipping learners with the skills and competencies needed to seize future opportunities.\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He argued that the initiative is part of EPK\u2019s long-standing community relations and educational development program, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education.<\/p>\n
“Working closely with county education stakeholders and the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Quality Assurance and Standards Officers, EPK has facilitated the establishment of laboratories that meet Ministry of Education standards and support the national curriculum as well as the practical learning needs of students, “he added.<\/p>\n
Through such partnerships, EPK continues to strengthen its commitment to quality and inclusive education.<\/p>\n

By collaborating with curriculum experts and local education leaders, the company ensures that each project is responsive to learners\u2019 needs, expanding access to meaningful STEM education\u2014especially in rural communities where such opportunities are limited.<\/p>\n
To date, these efforts have involved a cumulative investment of over Kshs 33 million, resulting in the completion of 21 science laboratories and 1 IT lab, highlighting the company\u2019s dedication to the social pillar of sustainability within its communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
