{"id":4944,"date":"2026-02-09T13:48:51","date_gmt":"2026-02-09T13:48:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thenewsroomhub.co.ke\/?p=4944"},"modified":"2026-02-09T13:48:51","modified_gmt":"2026-02-09T13:48:51","slug":"absa-commits-sh65-million-to-2026-magical-kenya-open-golf-extravaganza","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thenewsroomhub.co.ke\/index.php\/2026\/02\/09\/absa-commits-sh65-million-to-2026-magical-kenya-open-golf-extravaganza\/","title":{"rendered":"Absa commits Sh65 million to 2026 Magical Kenya Open golf extravaganza"},"content":{"rendered":"\r\n\r\nAbsa Bank Kenya PLC has committed Sh65 million to support the 2026 Magical Kenya Open Golf Tournament, extending its role as presenting partner and largest private sector sponsor for the 15th consecutive year.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe 57th edition of the tournament will be held from February 19, 2026, to February 22, 2026, at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/swalanyeti.co.ke\/sports\/article\/11470\/absa-commits-sh65-million-to-2026-magical-kenya-open-golf-extravaganza#\">\u00a0Karen Country Club<\/a>, bringing together elite golfers from around the world and reinforcing Kenya\u2019s position on the international golfing calendar.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nThe bank said Sh40 million of the sponsorship will be channelled directly to the Kenya Open Golf Limited (KOGL) to facilitate tournament organisation, while Sh25 million will fund marketing and stakeholder engagement activities.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAccording to the bank, the investment is tied to its broader focus on sports development, tourism promotion and strengthening Kenya\u2019s visibility as a global sporting destination.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nActivewear\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAbsa Bank Kenya Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamed described the sponsorship as part of the lender\u2019s long-term philosophy of supporting excellence through sport.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHe linked the tournament to the bank\u2019s brand purpose and its efforts to spotlight Kenyan talent.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\u201cAt Absa, our purpose is Empowering Africa\u2019s Tomorrow Together\u2026one story a time.
