A spirited voter registration sensitization drive by Ahadi Kenya on Friday drew more than 300 locals\u2014mostly first-time youth voters\u2014to Gitugi grounds in Mathioya Constituency, Murang\u2019a County, adding fresh momentum to the nationwide voter registration exercise currently underway.<\/p>\n
Ahadi Kenya CEO Dr. Stanley Kamau led the outreach, urging young people to recognise their voter\u2019s card as their strongest democratic tool. Kamau, who interacted closely with the youth and even paused to take selfies with first-time registrants, emphasized the importance of peaceful civic participation over divisive political rhetoric.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour vote is your voice. Use it to shape your future, not to shout one term, two term or no term,\u201d he told the crowd, encouraging them to channel their energy into informed decision-making rather than confrontational politics.<\/p>\n
During the event, Kamau witnessed several youths registering, including one James Mwangi, who was attended to by IEBC Mathioya registration officer Caroline Ngithua. He commended the electoral agency for supporting the exercise and ensuring that eligible citizens are captured on the voters\u2019 roll ahead of the next General Election.<\/p>\n
The sensitization drive is part of Ahadi Kenya\u2019s broader effort to boost civic awareness, particularly among young people who form the bulk of Kenya\u2019s voting population but often remain under-represented in electoral processes.<\/p>\n
With the national voter registration exercise ongoing countrywide, Kamau urged communities across Kenya to take advantage of the opportunity, noting that increased participation\u2014especially by youth\u2014will strengthen the country\u2019s democratic landscape.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the moment to show up. Your voter\u2019s card is your power,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
