Energy Principal Secretary Alex Wachira has said the government is keen on building a people-driven development model that listens, engages, and delivers, noting that programs such as Jamii Imara Mashinani<\/em> are transforming the way citizens interact with government.<\/p>\n

Speaking at Kahunguini Primary School in Gatundu South, Wachira joined other senior officials in engaging residents on government policies and opportunities available for youth and entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Jamii Imara Mashinani<\/em> initiative is not just a public engagement forum \u2014 it\u2019s a platform where we get to hear from the people directly,\u201d Wachira said. \u201cIt ensures that no Kenyan is left behind as we implement development programs at the grassroots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wachira urged young people to seize the opportunities presented through the Nyota Program, which empowers small businesses and provides certification for skilled individuals in technical and vocational sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur youth are the heartbeat of the economy,\u201d Wachira said. \u201cBy equipping them with skills and certification, we are enabling them to access jobs, start enterprises, and contribute meaningfully to national growth.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that the Ministry of Energy continues to invest in expanding access to clean and affordable electricity, a key driver of Kenya\u2019s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we electrify rural areas, we are powering schools, small industries, and health facilities,\u201d he said. \u201cEnergy access translates directly into opportunity, dignity, and progress for our people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lands Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome lauded the initiative for promoting government accountability and citizen feedback, saying Mount Kenya has witnessed steady progress under the Kenya Kwanza administration.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur focus is to ensure every household feels the impact of development,\u201d Wahome said. \u201cThis program allows government officers to explain projects, listen to concerns, and improve service delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura echoed the sentiment, saying the initiative is proof that the government values dialogue over politics.<\/p>\n
