For the next three days, the country’s capital will pulse with the energy of collaboration, innovation, and ideas aimed at reshaping the region’s approach to healthcare.

Held under the patronage of Kenya’s Ministry of Health, the event marks a milestone moment for the nation — one that affirms its growing stature as a regional medical hub and a leader in the pursuit of Universal Health Coverage. Now in its seventh year, WHX Nairobi, co-located with WHX Labs Nairobi, brings together an impressive line-up of policymakers, innovators, researchers, and thought leaders drawn from more than twenty countries.

The summit, organised by Informa Markets as part of the global World Health Expo (WHX) portfolio, which spans cities like Miami, Dubai, Lagos, and Kuala Lumpur, is designed as a space where dialogue meets action. Over the next three days, more than 8,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors, and 65 international speakers will engage in sessions focused on healthcare policy, digital transformation, and primary healthcare. Professionals attending the event will also earn up to 15 CPD points, reinforcing WHX’s commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Within the vibrant halls of the KICC, the co-located WHX Labs Nairobi — formerly known as Medlab East Africa — has already emerged as a hub for scientific exchange. Laboratory professionals, innovators, and clinicians are converging to explore advances in diagnostics, microbiology, and genomics, fields that are rapidly defining the next frontier of medicine. Global industry giants such as Beckman Coulter, Snibe Diagnostic, Randox, and Radiometer are unveiling new technologies alongside homegrown African innovators, reflecting a shared ambition: to make quality healthcare more accessible, efficient, and equitable.

As participants moved between panel sessions and exhibition zones, the spirit of innovation was palpable. “My experience at the conference was truly exceptional,” reflected Valerie Rading, Business Strategist at VR Consulting. “The sessions on digital health and laboratory innovation offered invaluable insights into the next decade of medical practice.”

But WHX Nairobi 2025 is not just about technology — it is also about people. This year’s edition has introduced two groundbreaking initiatives designed to nurture leadership and inclusivity across the health ecosystem. The first, Women 50/50, spearheaded by Philana Mugyenyi, seeks to close the gender gap in healthcare leadership by offering mentorship and capacity-building programmes tailored for women professionals. The second, Leaders in Healthcare, supported by President William Ruto and the Ministry of Health, brings ministers, investors, and senior executives into one room for high-level dialogue on sustainable healthcare transformation.

Beyond policy and innovation, this year’s event is also championing sustainability. The organisers have embraced a circular, eco-conscious model — digital badges have replaced paper tickets, signage has been recycled and repurposed, and a robust waste recovery programme ensures that materials are reused responsibly. Exhibitors who demonstrate exceptional environmental awareness will be honoured through the Sustainable Stand Awards, a nod to the Expo’s commitment to green practices. It is a small but powerful reminder that the future of healthcare must also be kind to the planet.

As the sessions unfold through October 24, WHX Nairobi is poised to set new benchmarks for collaboration and policy innovation in the region. The conversations here — from public-private partnerships to telemedicine and data-driven healthcare — will shape not only how Kenya moves forward but how the entire East African region reimagines access to care.

In the words of one organiser, WHX Nairobi is more than a conference; it is “a living demonstration of what happens when purpose meets possibility.” For professionals, innovators, and dreamers in the health space, the message is clear — the future of African healthcare is being written here, in the heart of Nairobi.

By Njeri Irungu Nairobi’s skyline shimmered this morning as the doors of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre opened to welcome…

[32

post-3977","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business
["GET
