Kitui County Woman Representative Hon. Dr. Irene Kasalu has donated 240 iron sheets, 50 lockers, and 50 desks to Katama Comprehensive Schools<\/a> in Mumoni Ward, Mwingi North Constituency.<\/p>\n

The donation seeks to uplift learning conditions and ease infrastructure challenges at the school, which has long struggled with overcrowded classrooms and limited furniture.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the handover ceremony, Dr. Kasalu reaffirmed her dedication to promoting quality education in Kitui. \u201cEvery child deserves a safe and supportive learning space. These materials will bring change to both students and teachers,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Community members, local leaders, parents, and pupils warmly welcomed the donation, calling it timely and impactful in boosting morale and performance.<\/p>\n

Mr. Patrick Mbatha, the school headteacher, said the school has suffered for years due to inadequate facilities. \u201cThese desks and lockers will ease congestion, and the iron sheets will help us complete more classrooms,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Dr. Kasalu noted that the donation is part of her broader education empowerment initiative, aimed at closing the learning gap in rural and marginalised parts of Kitui County.<\/p>\n

The school\u2019s Board of Management confirmed that the iron sheets will go toward roofing new classrooms and repairing those damaged by weather and age.\"\"<\/p>\n

Parents praised Dr. Kasalu for listening to their concerns and responding with action. \u201cShe walks with the people. She understands our children\u2019s needs,\u201d said Mary Kavutha, a parent at the school.<\/p>\n
